This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all users of the RideFirst Finance platform โ including consumers, registered dealers, private sellers, and sales and service staff. It supplements our Terms of Service and Dealer Platform Agreement. Use of the platform constitutes acceptance of this policy.
Section 01
Purpose and Scope
RideFirst Finance operates a powersports financing platform, dealer management system, and marketplace that relies on trust, accuracy, and good faith from all participants. This Acceptable Use Policy defines what constitutes prohibited use of our platform and services.
This policy applies to all access and use of ridefirstfinance.ca, ridemarket.ca, the dealer portal, the sales staff portal, the service portal, the Trade Block network, the inventory feed API, and any related services.
Section 02
General Prohibitions
No user may use the platform to:
- Violate any applicable federal, provincial, or municipal law or regulation
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information of any kind
- Impersonate any person, business, employee, or representative
- Engage in any activity that could be considered harassment, intimidation, or abuse of another user or RideFirst Finance staff
- Solicit or facilitate illegal activity
- Facilitate money laundering, fraud, or identity theft
- Violate the intellectual property rights of RideFirst Finance or any third party
Section 03
Prohibited Content โ Listings
The following types of listings and listing content are prohibited on the platform and marketplace:
- Misrepresented units: Listings with false odometer readings, undisclosed salvage or rebuilt titles, inaccurate condition descriptions, or photos that do not depict the actual unit
- Unavailable inventory: Listing units that have already been sold, traded, or are otherwise unavailable
- Encumbered units: Listing units subject to undisclosed liens, security interests, or legal holds
- Stolen vehicles: Listing units that are stolen, obtained through fraud, or whose provenance cannot be legitimately established
- Prohibited vehicles: Listing vehicles that are not street-legal, not eligible for registration, or otherwise prohibited from sale in the applicable province without required disclosures
- Bait listings: Posting units at unrealistically low prices to generate leads with no genuine intent to sell at that price
- Duplicate listings: Creating multiple listings for the same unit to artificially increase visibility
- Non-powersports listings: Listing vehicles, products, or services unrelated to powersports without prior written approval
Section 04
Prohibited Content โ Communications
The following types of communications are prohibited through any platform messaging, lead routing, or contact system:
- Spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or commercial solicitations unrelated to the user's inquiry
- Harassment, threats, abusive language, or discriminatory content
- Phishing attempts, fraudulent payment requests, or messages designed to deceive another user
- Sharing or requesting financial credentials, login credentials, or sensitive personal information outside of legitimate deal processing
- Soliciting users to transact off-platform in ways designed to circumvent platform protections
Section 05
System and Security Prohibitions
No user may attempt to:
- Gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform, its servers, or its databases
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform or any related network without prior written authorization
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any authentication or security feature of the platform
- Introduce malware, viruses, ransomware, or other malicious code
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks or interfere with platform availability for other users
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access, extract, or interact with platform content without prior written authorization
- Reverse-engineer any aspect of the platform's software, APIs, or underlying technology
Any unauthorized access attempt or security breach may be reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities and will result in immediate permanent account termination.
Section 06
Data and Privacy Prohibitions
All users must handle data obtained through the platform in compliance with applicable Canadian privacy law. The following are specifically prohibited:
- Using consumer personal information obtained through the platform for any purpose other than fulfilling the consumer's original inquiry
- Selling, renting, or transferring consumer data to any third party
- Storing consumer data obtained through the platform in systems that do not meet reasonable security standards
- Contacting consumers obtained through the platform after the original inquiry has been resolved without their renewed consent
- Using platform data to build competing directories, databases, or tools
Section 07
Dealer-Specific Rules
In addition to all general prohibitions, registered dealers are also prohibited from:
- Allowing staff account access to individuals who are not current, active employees of the dealership
- Sharing dealer portal credentials with any third party, including software vendors or consultants, without prior approval from RideFirst Finance
- Using the platform to process deals or financing applications on behalf of a third-party dealership not registered with RideFirst Finance
- Falsifying deal jacket records, customer information, or trade-in values
- Using the F&I calculator or deal tools to generate documents for deals not managed through the platform
- Attempting to manipulate platform analytics or lead routing systems
Section 08
AI Assistant Usage
The RideFirst Finance AI Assistant is provided as a dealer productivity tool to assist with platform navigation, deal preparation, and customer-facing content. The following uses are prohibited:
- Using the AI Assistant to generate fraudulent documents or misrepresentations to consumers
- Attempting to manipulate the AI Assistant into generating content that violates any other provision of this policy
- Using AI Assistant outputs as legally binding documents without appropriate review โ all AI-generated content should be reviewed before use
- Attempting to extract proprietary system information, pricing data of other dealers, or confidential platform data through AI prompting
The AI Assistant is a support tool. Dealers remain fully responsible for the accuracy and legality of any communications, documents, or representations made to consumers, regardless of whether they were drafted with AI assistance.
Section 09
Reporting Violations
If you encounter content, listings, or behavior on the platform that you believe violates this policy, we encourage you to report it promptly. Reports can be made to:
Reports will be reviewed and addressed in a timely manner. We do not disclose the identity of reporters to the subject of a report.
Section 10
Consequences of Violations
Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in one or more of the following, depending on severity:
- Warning and required correction
- Removal of specific listings or content
- Temporary suspension of account access
- Permanent account termination
- Termination of a Dealer Platform Agreement without refund
- Referral to law enforcement or regulatory authorities
- Civil legal action for damages caused by the violation
RideFirst Finance reserves the right to take any and all of these actions at its sole discretion, without prior notice in cases where immediate action is warranted to protect the platform, other users, or consumers.
Section 11
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced through the dealer portal or by email. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
